| In
a world of continuously moving regulatory targets,
Great Lakes Carbon Treatment (GLCT) maintains
a lead on your mark.
Metals
A common problem area with industrial process
water is metals. From Arsenic to Zinc, a generator
must keep close tabs on the effluent metal levels.
GLCT has been working to refine metals removal
and abatement technologies and can provide you
with answers to your questions and solutions for
your problems.
Whether
you have in-house treatment system that needs
work or refinement, or are at a point where you
need one designed and built, GLCT is a team player
that will assist you with every step.
GLCT
has the experience it takes to tackle a wide array
of problems. We have designed and built a variety
of water treatment plants and turnkey systems
to combat metals issues, VOC problems, and BOD/COD
concerns.
For
instance, a landfill in southeastern Michigan
had metals as well as VOCs and semi-volatiles
in its leachate. GLCT designed and installed a
treatment system that simultaneously combatted
the metal and the volatiles. Another example;
a post treatment system that was implemented by
an aerospace plant in southwestern Michigan that
was under a EPA consent order to lower the levels
of silver in its discharge. GLCT designed and
installed a system utilizing our TRICARB material
and virtually eliminated the silver from the waste
stream.
Suspended Solids
GLCT has found that control of suspended
solids in a waste stream may be the answer to
many waste stream issues. Micro fines or suspended
solids can attract and hold the metals, VOCs,
and oils, which upon discharge will create issues
for your facility. It doesn't have to be this
way.
By utilizing
our filtration tools, such as silter housings,
organically self indexing paper filters, and chemical
flocculation, GLCT has the answer you've been
looking for.
GLCT's
representatives will sit down with you and discuss
the issues, analyze your situation, and come up
with the most efficient and cost effective cure
for your malady.
Oils
& Grease
Manufacturing facilities fight a constant battle
with suspended oils and grease. From the production
of material pre-coated with oils, to cutting oils,
and other oily materials; this specific concern
can generate thousands of gallons of wastewater
per month. Typically, this water is trucked off
site and disposed of for a premium. GLCT may be
able to design and install a system which will
allow you to treat water generated in production
that otherwise can create serious wastewater issues,
and discharge it directly. These systems would
regulate and continuously monitor free oils and
greases in industrial wastewater. GLCT offers
some fantastic alternatives to fines.
Utilizing a variety of methods from in-line oil/water
separators, emulsion cracking technologies, and
oil loving Organoclay filtration media, GLCT once
again floats to the top.
Odor
Odor problems can be a nuisance to your
employees and also to the people next door. GLCT's
H2S SOLUTIONS provides a cost effective
alternative to activated alumina or KOH impregnated
carbons. With an absorption rate of 10% by weight,
H2S Solutions provide a low cost, highly
efficient solution for watery eyes.
VOCs
In today's current regulatory climate
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), Semi-Volatiles
(SVOC), and poly nucleic aromatics have become
important environmental issues to industry. Both
aqueous and vaporous VOCs can and do cause regulatory
problems that can severely impact your company's
ability to stay in compliance.
If your issue is high volume, low loading VOCs,
GLCT's vapor phase carbon materials are your answer.
We can design and install systems with flow rates
ranging from 10 through 1000 cfm and can at the
same time provide the most cost effective way
to solve your VOC problem.
For a higher loading, a Thermal or Catalytic Oxidizer
capable of reducing the discharge by up to 99%
may be just what the doctor ordered.
Aqueous VOCs are and have been GLCT's specialty
for more than fifteen years. By utilizing varied
technologies such as filter media, air stripping,
bioremediation and chemical injection, and coupling
them with the most successful methodologies, GLCT
will provide your company with an economical environmental
solution.
COD and BOD
Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Biological Oxygen
Demand (BOD) problems are the most prevalent problems
that industry faces in regulation of its wastewater.
GLCT can provide a simple and cost effective means
to the goal of BOD/COD compliance. We have more
than fifteen years of experience and hands-on
training in regulation oxygen demand issues and
can address your problem with chemical, physical,
and biological technologies.
